The man in possession of an item that he now considers trash has a decision to make. It’s easier to throw the trash out the window then to keep it around, carry it inside, and then take the trash out to the curb in a trash can.
By chucking the trash out the window he wins. And unless someone is going to stop him then he is going to do what is easiest for himself.
He Wins & Everyone Loses.
He wins a lot and yet isn’t our litterer also a part of the everyone? Yes he is. But one piece of trash divided by everyone, however defined, is a tiny slice compared to being the one who owns the whole win.
When we choose the I Win & Everyone Loses option, the world becomes a little bit worse for everyone.
