Graphvo is a social discussion network based on graph conversations. Each conversation starts with a root node that acts as the starting point for a graphvo. The graph contains the discussion. Each node is an individual comment that is a reply to another comment-node. The children of a node are aligned next to each other in the graph.
The position of the nodes in the graph is determined by the “cred” system. Cred is the minted currency of Graphvo. The amount of cred a comment-node has determines it’s position among it’s ‘sibling nodes’, other comment-nodes of the same parent. That way the best comments get the most views. The comment-node in the 2nd spot is reserved for the user who made the parent comment-node, this way a person gets to respond to their critics and it visible though they can still be beaten out by a comment that gets more cred.
Currently, new users are given 50 cred when they sign up and are given bonuses after their 10th and 100th comment-nodes created. A user must use their the cred gifted to them in difference graphvo conversations so they network gets built out.
Users are thus encourged and rewarded for making good posts. Giving a cred costs the giver something so users have to think about what kind of comment-node they are supporting and giving more visibility to.
